Integrity Always!

Always do what’s right.

Start your day

You’ll start in a company van stocked with the parts and tools you need, and a uniform that tells customers exactly who just arrived to fix their equipment.

Visit job sites

Most days you’ll visit three to four job sites. That might be a rooftop unit in Oak Creek, a walk in cooler at a Racine restaurant and a fryer line in Waukesha, across restaurants, schools, stores and facilities in southeastern Wisconsin.

Access the latest technology

GPS dispatching sends the closest available technician to each call, and the Tech24 mobile app lets you close out work orders, pull up resources and connect with senior technicians by video when you hit a problem you haven’t seen before.

Draw on Tech24 University training

You’ll draw on your Tech24 University training, which includes various opportunities to grow your skills and advance.

Call it a day

You head home knowing the heat is on, the coolers are cold and the kitchens you fixed today are open tonight. Those are skills Wisconsin businesses depend on every season.

What technician jobs does A-1 Services Group hire for?

A-1 Services Group hires field service technicians for commercial HVAC, refrigeration, cooking equipment and electrical work, based out of its Oak Creek office and serving southeastern Wisconsin. That includes HVAC technician jobs in Oak Creek and the Milwaukee area.

Openings change through the year, so check the current job postings. If nothing matches your background, use the Don’t See Your Role? option to join the talent network and we’ll contact you when a fit opens up.

Can I move into commercial kitchen work from HVAC or residential service?

Yes. A-1 itself started in heating and air conditioning, so HVAC experience is a strong foundation here. Commercial kitchen equipment adds gas cooking equipment, steam and high volume refrigeration, which Tech24 University teaches from the fundamentals up.

Technicians coming from residential HVAC, appliance repair or electrical work often find that much of what they know transfers directly. Experienced technicians with three or more years can also use fast track interview scheduling.

How does fast track interview scheduling work?

Technicians with three or more years of experience can book an interview directly from the careers page, choosing a time that works for them instead of waiting for a callback. It’s the quickest route from application to conversation.

Have your experience ready: the equipment and systems you’ve worked on, any certifications such as EPA Section 608, any Wisconsin trade credentials, and the parts of the Milwaukee area you can cover.

What if I don't see a job that fits me?

Send your resume anyway. The Don’t See Your Role? option adds you to the A-1 Services Group talent network, and we’ll keep your information on file and reach out when a matching role opens.

That works well for technicians relocating to the Milwaukee area, or for anyone who wants to be first in line when a position opens ahead of the heating or cooling season.

What training and credentials will I need?

You’ll train through Tech24 University on electrical, gas, steam and refrigeration equipment, from entry level through advanced repair. Technicians who work on sealed refrigerant systems need EPA Section 608 certification, which Tech24 can help you earn.

Some trade work, such as electrical, requires Wisconsin state credentials. If you already hold a license, list it on your application; if you don’t, ask how A-1 supports technicians working toward one.

What is the work like through the year in Wisconsin?

Steady. Fall and winter bring heating calls, make up air problems and rooftop units working through subzero weather. Summer brings cooling, refrigeration and ice machines running flat out. Cooking equipment and electrical work continue all year.

Because A-1 covers both building systems and kitchen equipment, the seasons shift your workload rather than empty your schedule, and you’ll see a wider range of equipment than a single trade job offers.
